 The results are in!
The results from the poll show that most of you felt there were too many forums. The most popular choice, by far, was to consolidate them into chassis type, so that's what I've done.

Please let me know if you find any problems or I missed anything.

Thanks to Eric, for giving me a little kick and getting me started on the conversion.

I have a 96 Cobra and the headlights are all foggy. Are these interchangeable with a regular 96 Mustang? Also, when I listen to the stereo I get a high pitched whistiling noise, anyone know why that happens?

Hi David,
I've never used it myself, but I've heard good things about Meguiare's PlastX clear lense cleaner. I'm probably going to need to do something when I get the car out this summer, I noticed they were starting to turn last fall. The funny thing is, I've got an '89 GT Conv stuffed in the back of the garage for my son when he gets older, and the lenses on it are still like new. Both the 93 and the 89 live in the same garage and the 89 spent a lot more time in the sun.

I was going to try something similar but it looks like it's foggy from the inside due to condensation. I think i'm just going to purchase new ones. Would a regular mustang lx or gt's lights fit on the cobra.

There was no such thing as an LX in '96. There was the V6, GT, and Cobra. The V6 and GT headlights are different than the Cobra headlights. They will fit, but they look different. The Cobra headlight lenses are smooth and clear. The V6/GT headlight lenses are faceted and do not look clear.

I have seen several messages posted about the fogging or yellowing of lenses. The best results seems to be with folks who use a metal polish. I believe this is because most of them contain a mild abrasive that removes the oxidation and polishes them. I've never tried it. Another mild abrasive I have used on some other plastics like the lens on a watch is toothpaste.

I have used the Meguire's plastic polishing system (cleaner followed by a polish) and it did work to take out the light scratches around the lens in the gauge cluster on my '96 Cobra. It looked like they had been put there by the previous owner by taking a rag and wiping off the dust that gathered around the recessed gauge cluster. But for the headlights, I think you might need something a little more agressive. Just don't use anything as agressive as COMET!

Something like a kitchen and bathroom cleaner that is made to clean without scratching the Corning cooktops or fiberglass shower surrounds would probably work too.
