 The results are in!
The results from the poll show that most of you felt there were too many forums. The most popular choice, by far, was to consolidate them into chassis type, so that's what I've done.

Please let me know if you find any problems or I missed anything.

Thanks to Eric, for giving me a little kick and getting me started on the conversion.

I don't know how many folks with 2003 or 2004 Cobras have had this issue here but a BUNCH of folks over at SVTPerformance have had it. Seems the gas pedal will catch on the carpet when WOT and won't return to the idle position when the foot is lifted. VERY dangerous situation. couple of stories over there with it happening at the track, and on the highway ...

I haven't had the issue yet mainly because I have not had the chance to even DRIVE my 04 let alone have it catch on the carpet *heh* ... but they went to NHSTA over it and it seems that now ford agrees there is a problem and is expected to issue a recall ...

there is another one rumored to be coming out regarding the crankshafts having stress cracks after some milage is put on them but that is still not confirmed.

Huh, I had the exact same thing happen w/ my '93. The hard beading on the edge of the floormat caught the pedal and held it down. Luckily I had some experience with a stuck throttle linkage on a different car and recognized it right away, and killed the engine. I keep the floormats pulled way down and to the left now.
NOTE: It is very dangerous to turn the key in a car with a manual transmission while you are driving. If you aren't very careful about how far you are turning it, you can lock the steering wheel and lose all control over the car. This happened to a friend of mine, and he hit the edge of a cement bridge @ 50mph. He ended up with 3 broken ribs, a punctered lung and a leg broken in four places. He still walks with a limp today.

Good call RDJ,
Blue oval news just posted a story on the recall. I hope they don't butcher them up too bad fixing it.

I have heard that the fix is to put a plate of somekind over the area directly under the gas peddle so that it doesn't wear the carped and catch in the resulting hole. that is much better than trying to cut the carpet. Some folks have done that as a fix and it works but will eventually look like shyt. I will be taking mine in for the fix as soon as I get home on vacation in late may. by then they should have everything in place.
