 The results are in!
The results from the poll show that most of you felt there were too many forums. The most popular choice, by far, was to consolidate them into chassis type, so that's what I've done.

Please let me know if you find any problems or I missed anything.

Thanks to Eric, for giving me a little kick and getting me started on the conversion.

Is 9,000 vehicles enough to stop this? or do you think letting every dealer sell them means they will get away with these mark-ups?

I love the item in the story that said the 01 T-Bird was similar, with people paying way over sticker. Then they were piled up at dealers, not moving at all. Then they were cancelled. The whole thing about SVT is that they were AFFORDABLE factory hopped up cars with just a little bit or rarity built in. That is no longer the case.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't remember feeling the same "sticker shock" when I found out how much the '93 was, as I did when I heard the MSRP on the last few Cobras. It doesn't look like the new Camaro or Challenger are going to be any better. What's everyone's opinion on the best bang for the buck these days?

Is 9000 enough. Probably not. Look at the number of Ford dealers still asking more then MSRP for the 06 Mustang GT. Too bad buyers wont just sit back and wait. I'm sure if the dealers all had new GT500's siting on the lot without orders on them, the discount game would arrive mightly quick....

Hey, you guys driven a new GT yet? I just bought a 5 speed coupe, and it's great.... Nope didn't pay MSRP either.....

Now time to finish fixing up the old 93...

I imagine that Ford is going to have a hell of a time moving these. You will always have some number of folks who have to have Ford's latest/greatest in their garage. Folks in the know will realize what an over-weight pig these cars have become and will go buy something else until the '07 starts to show up on used car lots or at discounted prices new at the dealerships. Too bad Ford couldn't hire away a few of the Corvette engineers to help put the Cobra on a diet.

So - are the GT500's still going for over sticker?

Out here in SoCal they were going for $10-15k over last year.

Now we have the GT500, the GT500KR, and the Shelby aftermarket modified GT500, the GT500 'Super Snake'. With all those models I have to think that ASPs (no pun intended) are falling.

Best regards,
